A lot of back slapping and faith promoting goes on during the big conferences held by the leaders of different religious groups in the world today. But you need only walk through the parking lot of a big faith rally or service day to answer the question “Does this teaching really work?” Temple of Destiny , Inc. research team did so recently at the international headquarter of one of these religious groups of the leading faith teachers and got the answer. There were different series of Mercedes, jaqua, landcruiser jeeps, and few shining lexus sedans parked there – but they were in the slots reserved for the pastors and their senior staff.
By and large, however, the lot looked like any other parking lot in town, with its wide arrange of cars, pickups, and vans. Listen to that: just like any other lot in town.
Now how can that be? There were at least a thousand cars out there, probably representing more than 800,000 people. What is the reason for this failure? It is simple. The promise is false. The people present at the service will eventually wear out. They will be tired of jumping up and down in expectation. Their shouts of confession for health and wealth will fade away. Eventually they despair and drift off. Some will be angry with their faith teachers. Others will rail against God. Too many will accept another lie from the pulpit and believe that the weak link was their own faith. They will think of themselves as a failure and many never recover from the blow.
But none of this will bother the preacher. More initiates will rush in to fill the empty seats with joy and offerings. No one will go after the missing ones. Or, if circumstances open up, someone might tell the lost one that it was his own fault that things didn’t work out. But that is about the extent of it.
